Axios Access Tools
Driving sustainable access and better health outcomes by helping patients complete their treatment.
Overview
The Patient Financial Evaluation Tool (PFET) is Axios’ validated, means-based assessment tool for determining the level of financial support a patient needs to complete their full course of treatment. Purpose-built for emerging markets and low- and middle-income countries, PFET helps make patient access programs more sustainable by reducing early treatment discontinuation and avoiding the “start-stop” dynamic that can compromise health outcomes.
Value
PFET is an essential component of an effective treatment access program because it supports sustainability for both patients and pharmaceutical companies.
Delivers a more accurate assessment of patient affordability by considering factors beyond household income.
Expands the viable patient pool by reaching patients across the affordability spectrum.
Supports longer treatment duration compared to fixed-scheme access programs.
Straightforward assessment with dedicated support, giving patients peace of mind while allowing physicians to focus on prescribing the right treatment.

Why PFET
PFET has been rigorously tested across statistical and operational dimensions, demonstrating accuracy, consistency, and real-world applicability.
Independent external assessments confirmed PFET as a statistically robust and accurate measure of a patient’s ability to pay (see above).
