Peter Ahern, Executive Vice President, Axios International Inc., and President, Axios Foundation
Located in the United States, Peter is responsible for strategy, organizational development and overall management of Axios Foundation.
As President of Axios Foundation, Peter has led Axios’ involvement in the Family Health International/Global HIV/AIDS Initiative Nigeria (FHI/GHAIN) project, which eventually led to the subsequent establishment of Axios Foundation in Nigeria. In 2011, Peter was instrumental in the establishment of the Foundation’s office in Sudan, which was created to support Axios’ efforts to strengthen the national supply chain under contract to UNDP.
Peter has extensive experience in organizational management, management consulting, international trade, economic development and systems analysis.
Prior to Axios, Peter owned and managed a consulting firm assisting the government of Northern Ireland, and other clients, to develop international business alliances for small and medium European enterprises. In addition, he managed US operations for business incubation organizations and worked in economic development as US Vice President of the Industrial Development Authority of Ireland.
Peter holds a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng) from University College Dublin (Ireland) and a Master’s degree (MSc) in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland).
